Author's Notes: Seventeenth chapter! (I'm just going all out!)
It's already eight o'clock. Wow. To be honest, I really couldn't help but look at the clock simultaneously every single time. I just couldn't help it. I've never actually been on a date where I wasn't forced to go. So, I'm not lying when I say I'm pretty nervous. But, I have watched and learned what people do on dates so, it's going to be alright? I guess. Wonder what Ian has planned for us though. Knowing him, he's easily ready to disappoint. I sighed, trying to contain another smile.
'Stop it, Anthony. Don't smile just yet! Keep your composure.'
Yeah, yeah. Okay. Whatever.
I chuckled and shook my head as I stood up. Getting ready to go. Can't believe I'm happy about this. I really can't. I just want to laugh out loud. I opened the door to my office and came upon a very hurried Ian. Trying to get work done and just rushing to clean stuff up. I cleared my throat and he looked up at me.
"Ah! Just wait a minute, will you? Sorry." he had said, scratching his head. I didn't mind waiting.
After a few more minutes, he was set and ready to go. He walked towards me and smiled that smile. That smug smile. That cute smile. That. . .Anthony. You're getting off track again. Shut it.
. . .Right.
"Sorry for the wait. C'mon let's go." he motioned me ot follow him.
"And I hope you planned something out. At the very least." I replied, trying to get reassurance.
"Yeah. We're going on a night out in downtown Carmichael." he beamed.
"Downtown?" I questioned and he nodded. I haven't been to downtown Carmichael that much so this is kind of new to me. I've only been there for meetings and such. "Sounds good. Lead the way." I smiled as we entered the elevator.
Once we reached the first floor, we said goodbye to the people doing overtime and headed out to the parking lot, walking towards Ian's blue car.
"Okay, get in, princess." he joked and I slapped him straight on the forehead, smiled, and got in. He laughed and got in the driver's seat. Did I mention he had to pick me up for work today? Yeah, he had to. At least he remembered that my car was still in the shop. It got pretty wrecked. We really didn't do much in the car. We listened to music, talked, joked around, and just enjoyed each others' presence. Which I found really amusing. To my surprise.
We reached downtown with ease but, it was really hard trying to find any parking. So that took a while. But, when that was done we both got out of his car. I was being cautious about any paparazzi. Downtown is very infamous for that. Trust me, Kalel and I have been in front pages of the news the next day when we hung out in downtown Carmichael for a "date". Ian must've noticed how cautious I was because he gently put his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry. Just don't think about it. Kalel told me where the 'paparazzi hotspots' are. So I chose the are of downtown that had none of them. Let's just enjoy our date, yeah?" Ian reassured me. Thank you, Kalel for your extensive memory. I nodded at Ian and we went to te nearest restaurant.
It wasn't fancy but, it was close. And I didn't mind, I've always wanted to go to a not-so-fancy restaurant. I've got weird ambitions for an elite. Don't judge me.
I'm so nervous. I don't want to mess this up. I really don't. As the two of us went inside an Italian restaurant, we were greeted by a perky woman.
"Hello, how many?" she asked us.
"Two, please." I smiled at her and she nodded.
"Alright, please follow me." she motioned and we did what we were told. We were seated by the window. The downtown lights were really, really bright. But we didn't mind. "Please wait here for a waiter to come by." she smiled and walked away.
The both of us looked at the menu. Everything looked so delicious but so expensive. Have I brought enough money with me? I hope so.
"So what do you want to eat? I asked Anthony, smiling.
"Hmm. I don't really know.v This seafood pasta looks really interesting." I looked at what he was talking about and then looked at the price. $38 bucks. Is he trying to screw me over? I gulped. "Yup. That looks really appetizing." I looked back at him, he was smirking. He's really trying to screw me over. The waiter finally walked up to our table placing iced water on our table.
"What will it be for tonight?" she asked as she took out her notepad.
"Yeah. Can we get the seafood pasta and. . ." I looked over at the menu again. Realizing that I really haven't made an order. "Chicken and shrimp carbonara."
"Okay. And is that all?"
"Alright." she walked away from us. But, I could've sworn that she was giggling at us. Probably because of Anthony.
It took a few minutes to get our order but, it was okay. Anthony and I were making an interesting conversation about horse-sized ducks and duck-sized horses and who would be man enough to take on a horse-sized duck. Needless to say, the outcome was the same. We both had picked horse-sized ducks. It's probably because of pride. Ahaha.
Once we got our food, we didn't really waste any time eating all of it since we haven't eaten since five. And since the food was good, we really talked. We just took food from each other's plates. Not really minding each other. About forty-five minutes of eating, we had asked for the bill and well, I almost got a heart attack.
A flat $74 was mocking me. I took out my wallet. I only had $55 on me. I looked at Anthony who had that smug look on his face. He's really trying to screw me over.
"What's wrong?" I smirked. I may have been excited for this date but, of course being sadistic little me, I planned to screw Ian over.
"Uhh. . ."
"Don't tell me you don't have enough money." I laughed and he blushed furiously. I sighed and got my wallet out. "How much you got on you?"
"Fifty-five bucks." he mumbled.
"Alright. I don't normally do this. But let's pitch in. I'll give you twenty-six and you give twenty-nine." I pulled out twenty-six bucks from my wallet and he gingerly pulled out twenty-nine.
I wanted to laugh out loud in front of him. For being, well, cute. I suppose? Or for being really idiotic. Either one. After we both paid for our meal, we walked out of the restaurant. And Ian, being Ian couldn't really stop saying 'Sorry'.
"Don't worry about it. I was just having fun with you." I smirked. "You don't need to pay me back."
"You forgot I'm rich."
"Oh yeah." he then smiled. "Well, let's go somewhere else.
"Where would you want to go?" he really didn't give me an answer. The only thing I knew was I was being dragged to somewhere. "Ian! Wait! I-"
I stopped talking. We reached our next destination. It was the park. I marveled at the sight. Everything looked beautiful. The kind of place you want to take a really nice girl to. The fountain in the middle of the park was reflecting the city lights and the lanterns were lined up in a certain way that it looked really. . .how do I put this? Romantic? Yeah, that's the word. Romantic. I looked at Ian, he was smiling.
"C'mon. Let's go have a seat at that bench over there." Ian pointed at the nearest empty bench and I followed. Not really knowing what to say. I was really happy.
There was silence between us. We were so busy taking in the atmosphere.
"Hey, Anthony?" I looked at Ian.
"I'm glad I asked you out. Really. Even if you did try and screw me over with the bill earlier." he slumped down, feeling relaxed. I couldn't hold it back anymore and I just laughed out loud.
"Ahahaha. You're really charming." I smiled at him and he looked at me with shocked eyes. Before I knew what I was doing, I kissed my index finger and placed it on Ian's cheeks. He blushed the deepest shade of red i have ever seen.
"E-Erm. D-Does that count as a kiss?" he asked me.
"Yeah, if you put it that way."
"O-Oh." he smiled. "Ahahaha. You're weird."
"Pfft. Whatever, stuttering mess."
There was another silence but, it was okay. We're used to it. After that moment of silence passed through, we started talking again. We started talking about each others' lives and just getting to know each other most of the time.
We didn't really mind anything right now.
Ya'll guys better be careful There's some shit to be dealt with after your date is done, Anthony. Some serious shit. Ergh. The fluff still burns my retinas. Holy fucking shit.
And yes, I kind of like the idea of a sadistic!Anthony. Meh. [shrugs]
